Update on the Second Sunday Monthly Jazz Vespers Worship.
July 28, 2020
There is a saying that life is what happens to you while you are laying your best plans! That is certainly true of our situation today as regards to the COVID-19 virus. Our lives have been turned upside down. Some more than others. But in every way, all of us are affected by this phenomenon.
At this point, we have decided to take a vacation from the Jazz Vespers for a while. We don’t want anyone to think that we are abandoning this program. It has brought new life and some new members into the church and will continue to do the same in the future, we hope.
We will keep you posted about happenings in the Jazz scene here at WPC as things progress. We are exploring plans for a possible Jazz Concert (via the Gretchen Iben Series) sometime this fall. Of course, it would have limited seating and social distancing. If the demand is great, we would repeat the concert at a second time or date to accommodate everyone who wishes to attend. We will keep you posted on this and the Session grapples with decisions about how and when to open our doors.
We pray that you all will keep in close touch with your church family in this trying time. We can support each other and be of comfort. Following the webcast on Sunday mornings, there is a fellowship via ‘Zoom’. Everyone is welcome. If they want a password, it is ‘FELLOWSHIP.”
Keep safe, and we hope to see you at the morning and vesper services as soon as it is possible to open our doors again.
All the best wishes
“Throughout the week, there are many worldly things pulling me away from my commitment to God. I come to church on Sunday at Westminster to reconnect and renew my relationship with Him. Part of my worship is to ask him for forgiveness for my lack of faithfulness. I leave, reminded that he loves me, forgives me, and walks beside me every day. What a profound blessing that is!”
