Funerals or memorial services at Westminster Presbyterian Church affirm the hope of the Christian gospel and the good news of the resurrection.
If you have experienced the death of a loved one, please notify our church office or pastor as soon as possible so that we can provide comfort and assist you with the practical realities of dealing with grief and loss. Funeral and memorial services are always planned under the direction of the pastor; other clergy may be invited to participate at the request of the family.
The church will make every effort to accommodate the needs of the family regarding the time and day of the service. Please call the church office at 309-673-8501 to discuss funeral planning details, including the type of service, visitation, the Order of Worship, receptions, and other specifics.
“Christians do not bear bereavement in isolation but are sustained by the power of the Spirit and the community of faith. The church offers a ministry of love and hope to all who grieve.”

“Why am I a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church? Two words keep floating up in a rather persistent way – “home” and “family” – and I realized that it is an inescapable fact that is what this church means to me. During my 40 years here, so many life events have happened and Westminster has been there for me through all those times – good and bad. It has been my home and family. They say “home is where the heart is” and I’ve found the heart of Westminster to be as open and warm as a family’s!”
