Concerts are free to the public.
They will be performed live at the
Westminster Presbyterian Church, Peoria, Illinois.
The Peoria Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will once again present a series of free concerts in August to be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1420 W. Moss Ave in Peoria.
Four accomplished area organists will perform works from many different composers of the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Modern periods. Original arrangements or compositions may also be included in each organist’s program.
These free concerts will be performed on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm.
Each concert is sure to be unique, offering many fine examples of the broad and varied organ composition repertoire.
Following the August 23 concert, a social gathering time is planned which will include refreshments.
Supporting the mission of AGO National, which is to foster a thriving community of musicians who share their knowledge and inspire passion for the organ, the Peoria Chapter’s purpose is to celebrate and promote “The King of Instruments” in Central Illinois.

“As a newcomer to Westminster, I’ve found it to be a most welcoming fellowship. I look forward to going to services and events and find the warmth of the congregation to be most helpful to a newcomer to the entire area. I find sermons challenging … music beautiful and well prepared … and a dignity in the worship that is all too lacking in most Protestant congregations. Mix this with an open atmosphere where it is OK to question and still be seen as a good Christian, and I know I’ve found one important ‘home’ in Central Illinois.”
