In this, the third Sunday of Epiphany, our Old Testament, and Gospel readings highlight one particular type of “epiphany,” a call from God. The called are Jonah, the Old Testament prophet sent to Nineveh, and four fishermen called to be Jesus’ disciples. The Apostle Paul proclaimed we are all called for different types of service, carried out in different ways according to our abilities. The tricky part is recognizing a call, discerning what we are called to do, accepting the call, and following through. As Hamlet lamented: “Therein lies the rub.”
Let us know that you joined us by filling out the Friendship Form below.
Then share with us your favorite part of today’s online worship experience!
Whether that was something from the music or the message, we’d love to hear.

Give us grace, O Lord, to answer readily the call of our Savior Jesus Christ
and proclaim to all people the Good News of his salvation, that we and the
whole world may perceive the glory of his marvelous works; who lives
and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

“I belong to Westminster because of the splendid worship services, the caring pastor and the faith in action programs…. Westminster made me feel like a welcome part of the church family and allows me to share ‘time, treasure and talents.’ It is a very warm and inclusive congregation with great leadership.”
