March 6, 2022 – 1st Sunday in Lent

“THE WALK OF HUMILITY”

Today is the first Sunday in the season of Lent, when we are invited to examine the roots of our Christian faith and discipleship and to follow Jesus’ journey to the cross. Through the cross we answer the call to follow Jesus, through Lent and always, to the place where humanity’s brokenness and sin are on full display. These Lenten Sundays are an opportunity to go deep into our hearts and minds, allowing the Spirit to lead us into the wilderness, where we identify the places we have strayed from God. Then we can proceed to follow Christ’s way on our return to the place we belong.

PRAYER

“Throughout the week, there are many worldly things pulling me away from my commitment to God.  I come to church on Sunday at Westminster to reconnect and renew my relationship with Him.  Part of my worship is to ask him for forgiveness for my lack of faithfulness.  I leave, reminded that he loves me, forgives me, and walks beside me every day.  What a profound blessing that is!”
